How often do we get so caught up in making a difference in the world that we forget about making a difference in ourselves? How often do we look at the planet and forget about the people?
How many times have you said that you want to make a difference in the world but have neglected to acknowledge that your world, right now, in this moment, is right here?
What difference are you going to make right now?
Ollin - meaning “to move and act with all your heart”
When the ancient Aztecs experiences a great storm or an earthquake, they would scream at the top of their lungs “Ollin!”
This meant that the time for action was now. This was the moment when you gave everything you had. All of your heart to what it was that was present in that moment.
When I learned about this, I couldn’t help but relate it to the life I live now and to the lives that we live now.
How many times have we been required to live “Ollin”? How many times over the past year have you experiences a great storm or the Earth below you shaking so intensely, that the only thing required of you is to move with all of your heart?
We don’t do that any more. We stop. We think. We plan. Then we act.
But what if you took action more than you thought. What if, instead of planning, you just did?
These are questions I’ve been asking myself lately. Lately, I wonder what would be different in my life had I not spent so much of my time planning and thinking about the outcomes, rather than just moving with all of my heart.
